Oncology surgery is one of the divisions of general surgery that specializes specifically in the treatment of various cancers. It involves the training of Specialty Doctor for 5 years in General Surgery and an additional training of 2 to 3 years in oncology to provide the best care related to cancer.
Agatha Clinic offers a dynamic team of surgical oncologists specializing in breast cancer, skin (melanoma), soft tissue (sarcomas), intestine (colon and stomach) and peritoneal carcinomatosis. Our team of surgeons is internationally renowned and is affiliated to the Hospital of the University of Montreal (CHUM). They are experts in their respective fields and participate in international conferences. The oncologist surgeon takes care of the patients both during surgery and during neoadjuvant chemotherapy (before surgery) and adjuvant chemotherapy (after surgery) in order to maximize their chances of recovery. Surgeries are offered at CHUM whereas at Clinic Agatha, only minor surgery with local anesthesia will be offered.
